A summer day in October! (10/18/16) @ the Botanic Gardens

Twinsies! Even Menemsha aka Menemshee got the memo with her yellow nails and navy blue sweatshirt!

Into the Botanic Gardens.

Dashing towards the children's garden.

First stop.

Menemsha and Nomi's heart to heart.

Exploring.

Weighing and comparing, sort of.

Music time.

Mad dash to the next activity!

Digging for acorns in dirt, using big tweezers. This was Nomi's favorite station!

Collecting the acorns in smooth wooden bowls.

Not pictured: feeding the acorns to stuffed squirrels.

Also not pictured: Nomi running away with this bowl of acorns.

The scene.

Honeydew melon and pretzels for snack.

Digging pit!

In the pit.

Juni arrives! Better late than never! Wings promptly went on.

Arbor the monarch.

Story time for the butterflies.

Learning about how seeds travel: through the wind.

Seeds can travel on animals, getting stuck in bear fur.

Seeds can float in water.

Nomi.

Another station, another magnifying glass.

Music time #2. With excellent sharing.

Juni and Arbor make up a leaping game.

All the friends join.

Wigwam shenanigans.

Lunchtime, with my apologies for being so boring, busy weekend and no time for grocery shopping or cooking... so they got sandwiches with almond butter & apple butter on sprouted bread, slices cukes/bell peppers/colored carrots, and hard boiled eggs. Dried mango for dessert.

Nomi started a dance party which was truly entertaining.

Leaf throwing finale to a beautiful playgroup day with such sweet kids!
