First Day of Playgroup!

We left the house, all packed for the morning and prepared to host the first day, on bike. And miraculously made it to Lincoln Road Playground in Prospect Park at 8:30am on the dot for the day of playgroup. Record breaking day of heat and humidity for this time in September.

Naomi, with her work face on.

Abe and Nomi explored the playground. We were the only people there for awhile.

We were very fortunate to have a playgroup coop graduate with us, Milo (Arbor's older brother). He was our junior assistant for the day, and the little ones loved watching him. He was a great help pushing the kids on the swings.

Abe got some particularly good pushes from Milo.

At around 9:30am we had honeydew melon and peach almond muffins. Snack was not as calm and organized as it appears in this photo.

For a very sweet several minutes, Nomi & Juni walked around holding hands.

Kiddos discovered the hidden bells and switches and made music.

Arbor & Nomi showed us dance moves.

At about 10:30am we headed into the park to a spot near the pond:
2 kids in Ergos and 2 kids in strollers.

In the park, we threw some acorns, tottered around, played in between the trunks of a huge tree, and then started to get antsy/tired/hungry/wondering where our parents were. So... we ate the blackberries Juni so picked from my lunch bag (they meant for lunch, but we sacrificed) and then we all embarked on a drawn out little stroller/ergo/walk/bopping-up-and-down stroll while singing songs about ants marching, twinkling stars, and letters. Some of us almost fell asleep.

We returned to our spot nearish to the pond and had lunch at about 11:40am: brown rice and kidney bean salad with dill; sliced cukes and purple peppers; ground cherries; and a little more of what was left from snack.

Nobody ate everything, and everyone ate something at both food times. Everyone fed everyone, switched bowls and spoons, and water bottles were traded all around. Lots of spills. These kids love to share!! We took our time with our picnic lunch and then left at about 12:10 to head back to the playground. Minutes after we got back, it was 12:30 already, and time for pick up!

And below is how my kids returned home.
